Below you can find short overview and photos from the ninteenth international conference National Forum on Maintenance 2019, that took place from May 28 to 29, 2019 traditionally in the hotel Patria at Štrbské Pleso.
      Since 2000, the conference has established and maintains the status of an event attended by leading managers and maintenance specialists, representatives of leading companies offering services for maintenance, representatives of wide range of industries as well as experts from academic sphere meet together.
      The objective of the conference from its origin is: “Provide state-of-art information of high professional value and create favourable conditions for exchange of experience among maintenance professionals from Slovakia and abroad“. The conference proves its prominent positions by high number of over 200 domestic and foreign participants.
      The importance of the conference was again proved by high number of participants. At the 19th year we had 225 participants, out of which 189 from Slovakia and 36 foreign - from the Czech republic 25, Germany 4, Austria 3, Poland 2, USA 1 and Slovenia 1.

      The conference program continued in a well-established model of one and half-day conference. The program included 32 prezentations. After each session there was a space for presentations and discussion.

      Presentations of the general and main partners of the conference were included in the introductory sessions. The topics of progressive maintenance technologies have prevailed in the programme. Education and training of maintenance personnel using virtual reality was presented by the company sféra, a. s. general aprtner of the conference. Attention was also paid to occupationaô safety and health issues. On the second day, presentations continued in the area of technical diagnostics as well as progressive maintenance technologies. A special topic at the end was a lecture devoted to the management and motivation of people as a decisive factor in each activity.

      SSU has been awarding SSU prizes for recognition as a contribution to maintenance development almost from the start of conferences. The SSU Award "Maintainer of the year“ wnet to two maintenance personalities from automotive industry - Miroslav Koreň, maintenance specialist for the department of predictive maintenance at Hella Signal Lighting s.r.o. Bánovce nad Bebravou, and Peter Levai, team leade of Automatisation for special maintenance team at Volkswagen Slovakia a.s.

      The SSU Award for Diploma Thesis for the sixteenth time was awarded to Ing. Matej Barlok, graduete form Maitnenance of Trnasport Technochnology, department of Trnasprot and Handling Machines, Mechanical Engineering Faculty, Univesity of Žilina, for the diploma work entitled "FMECA Analysis of thermal deburring device EXTRUDE HONE TEM P350", sueprvised by Ing. Jana Galliková, PhD.

NFM 2019 – Participants survey - results

      In the participant survey, 61 responses were submitted, which is 27% of the registered participants. These questions have remained unchanged from the outset, so it is possible to follow the evolution of the evaluation from the first year. Finally, they can give 3 lectures that were most interesting to them. The evaluation again confirmed that the resulting marks remained stable over the whole reporting period. This year there was a slight deterioration in all. The greatest satisfaction remains with the conference venue, the Patria Hotel (score 1.13). In spite of the fact that the participants evaluated the conference very positively during the personal meetings, the moderate deterioration of the score means the task of paying more attention to the natural content conference. Critical opinions and comments are an incentive for improvement in the coming years.

      For the tenth time, participants also rated the three lectures they liked best . Tihis year 6 presentations were not mentioned in the evaluations, perhaps also becasue of smaller number of returned inquiry sheets, as well as becasue of writing only three most interesting presentations. PThe ranking key remains the same: the lecture given first takes 3 points, the second one and the third one. The sum of the points is the first criterion for determining the order, the second is the number of the marks and the third the average of the scores.
